Why Didn't Canda Trust America?

Canada didn't trust America because of Manifest Destiny. America wanted to take the British over and own all of North America. During the Civil War, America had thoughts of invading Canda again because they knew Britain was pro-Southern. The Candians were so afraid of the Americans, it was one of the main reasons Canda wanted Confederation.

What Kind Of Relations Did Canada Have With The US?

Overall, Canada and the USA had a fairly troubled past.with the Burning of the Caroline steamer fresh in their minds, their was much tension. To make matters worse between the two, many rebel leaders and soldiers were running, or else hiding away, in America, to escape the Canadian government. This created yet more tension between the two. And when the state of Maine essentially went up for grabs, the two countries went haywire, and were becoming ready for the war.

What kind of trade relations Canada and US have?

The Canadians have not had a great trading past with the Americans. They have halted trade with Canada before. Also the great difference in populations have made serious problems for the Canadians including a high level of dependency on the vulnerability to the US policies.
